Our Environmental Activities
In addition to being compliant with current environmental policies, regulations and legal regulatory standards, we have initiated our compliance process in all our ready-mixed concrete facilities for the first time in 2008 within the framework of TS EN ISO 14001. We continue our work on reducing or eliminating risks by conducting risk analysis without slowing down. We carry out our production in accordance with the instructions and procedures created together with risk analyses in our ready-mixed concrete facilities. We closely follow the environmental processes that are developing every passing day in our country and in the world and apply them in our own processes in our concrete production facilities together with field investments.
While fulfilling our responsibilities, our general principle is “respect for nature” and “not to pollute instead of cleaning”. Protection and improvement of the environment we live in is an inseparable part of our business and life. For this reason, we take maximum care to prevent environmental pollution and protect natural resources.
Waste Management
With the Industrial Waste Management System we implement, we manage all hazardous and non-hazardous wastes in accordance with the laws and recycle them into the economy.
In our facilities, we carry out activities aimed at recycling 100% concrete sludge waste and using it appropriately. Thanks to these activities, we ensure;
- Prevention of environmental pollution
- Re-evaluation of waste
- Reduction of natural resource consumption.
Recycling Unit and Wastewater Treatment Plant
We have Recycling Units with identity documents obtained from the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization in all our facilities. Pump and mixer cleaning is carried out in these units, and we do not clean vehicles outside the facility in order to keep our environmental impact at a minimum level. In order to reduce natural resource consumption, we use our concrete sludge wastes formed as a result of washing as an alternative raw material in cement production and re-use our washing waters in concrete production. We both prevent environmental pollution, re-evaluate the process wastes formed as by-products and save water.
Domestic wastewater formed in our facilities is treated in our Package Wastewater Treatment Plant and we re-use the treated water by irrigating our site. We periodically have our wastewater analyses performed by authorized laboratories in accordance with legal requirements.
Environmental Drills and Trainings
In order to protect natural resources, fully comply with all environmental legislation, continuously improve our environmental performance and ensure sustainability, we provide theoretical and field practical trainings to ensure environmental awareness in all our facilities.
We aim to reinforce the trainings we organize by conducting environmental drills, thus minimizing our environmental impact in an actual situation. We design how all our employees will handle their duties and responsibilities, and we carry out planned and unplanned drill programs. We aim to continuously improve by monitoring the performance of the drills conducted with periodic programs and supporting them with corrective and preventive activities.
Emission Control
We determine the air emissions that may arise from our activities in advance, and then implement appropriate planning, engineering and reduction studies to ensure that the environment is protected and the emissions meet the requirements of the legislation.
Raw materials are not stored in open areas in our facilities. The aggregate bunkers in the production area, raw material carrying belts and twin-shaft are completely closed. We have pulverized water systems in our closed aggregate bunkers, preventing uncontrolled dust. There are jet filters in our cement silos, the emission formed at these points is drawn by jet filters and the retained material is discharged and used again. The roads and fields of our facilities are concrete, and we irrigate at regular intervals.
